Day 13- grateful for students who never give up.

November 20, 2012

Born in Geneva Camp, Dhaka, Shahzada Hussain is twenty two years old. He is the eldest in a family of three boys. His father, a rickshaw driver struggles to make ends meet for his family. Educating their three children is daily struggle for his parents who were able to get Shahzada through elementary school. Shahzada worked hard and his will to never give up was able to get him to high school and then to College. Infused by the spirit to help others, Shahzada starting volunteering for OBAT Helpers. His sincerity and dedication to help convinced the OBAT staff that he would be a great addition to the team of teachers employed by OBAT’s tutoring Center. His stellar performance and unflinching will to progress and learn didn’t go unnoticed either. OBAT arranged a scholarship for him so that he could study further.

On February 15th, 2009, Shahzada was admitted into the BBA (Bachelors of Business Administration) Victoria University of Bangladesh. At present, he has a year more to go until he finishes his studies.

The latest news that we have received about Shahzada is that he was able to get an internship at Trust Bank and is about to start it soon.

His family was able to move out of the camp into a small rented house as well. Shahzada is working extra hours to support his family. He is very grateful to the donors of OBAT who have made his journey possible.
